This is a fantastic site! Well done! I'd been working on my own software to look for ways to filter Prosper's loans better, when I found Lendstats.com. Looks like I can trash my own work now!

It's amazing how the historical results improve by adjusting the filter settings. I'm hoping to improve my own results by 5-7% by using Lendstats. We'll see...

Thanks again!

Bligefisher,
I do have a chart on my site showing the % of loans that go from current to late by age and another chart showing the % of loans that go from late to default by age (only for Prosper data). The charts look at all loans and right now are broken out by year. However, making these charts customizable according to certain criteria is a great idea and something that I hope to look into in the future. You can see these charts by clicking on the charts tab.

Gotta say, this site is like a drug for a numbers geek like me. It has really helped me hone in on the highest return investment criteria with lowest default rate.

Doing a bit more research, I'm trying to determine whether I should sell notes on folio or not. I think to help me make my decision, I would like to know what months the defaults happened with my search criteria. Example: Say I invest in E notes with 30+ payment history. When I search that I see 7 defaults, and 4 late notes. Is there a way to see what month those notes went into default or went late? (Month 14 of 36) Or what is the average default month?

Alchemist, that was one of my original intentions with LendStats. To give lenders the information needed to accurately gauge their returns and thereby contribute to the long-term success of p2p-lending.

David, that is unfortuneate. The only advice I can give you is to let your congressmen know that you want to invest in p2p lending.

Carl, yes I'm a Wisconsin guy, I even went to UW-Madison and lived on lake Monona for a year. A wonderful place. I even went to Ken's butcher shop across the lake in Monona. I had to, for it bears my name! It also happens to be the best butcher shop that I knew in the area.

Em, defaults will sometimes make "recovery" payments. This is great news!!! It is proof that LC does post default collections. I think defaults are by definition loans that are 120 days late, so it really doesn't matter if they make payments or not, if they are 120 days late or more then they are considered defaults. When defaulted loans make payments, that payment just gets counted as interest paid, unless the payment was big enough to pay all accumulated interest, then part of the principal will be paid off as well. If the remaining balance gets paid down to near zero, then LendStats changes the status from "Default" to "Paid".

Occasionally loans will have small outstanding principle after being paid off. This is just a result of our irregular monthly and weekly schedules, i.e. so sometimes there are 28 days between on time monthly payments and sometimes there are can be 32 days between on-time monthly payments. This often makes for small balances after a loan has been paid off. If a loan is marked as "Paid" LendStats just assumes the remaining balance is zero.

I've run across a couple loans on Lending Club that are a little confusing.

For example, I have 1 loan that is in "Default" but recently has been making payments.
https://www.lendingclub.com/account/loanPerf.action?loan_id=439583&order_id=1509149

I have another loan that is "Fully Paid" but still has a (small) Outstanding Principal.
https://www.lendingclub.com/account/loanPerf.action?loan_id=486603&order_id=1511828

Not sure what these mean or how they might impact the stats on this site.

Great site! What stinks is that I live in Massachusetts... 2 miles away from RI. It tortures me that I can't participate in either prosper or lending club..
